Cynthia Markel currently serves as Chief Clinical Officer for the Central Kansas Foundation. Ms. Markel has been employed with the Central Kansas Foundation for over 25 years serving in various leadership roles. Ms. Markel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with an emphasis in chemical dependency services from Marymount College. She also attended Wichita State University’s Master of Social Work program. She is a Registered Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor in the State of Kansas, a nationally Certified Addiction Counselor, and a Substance Abuse Professional, certified for Department of Transportation substance abuse assessment services. Ms. Markel began her career at the Central Kansas Foundation as an Assistant Manager of a women’s halfway house. She has also served as an Adolescent Counselor, Assessment Counselor, Director of the Central Kansas Regional Prevention Center, and Director of the Salina All-American Community Partnership, a federally funded Community Prevention Partnership program. In 1995, Ms Markel returned to clinical services serving as the Clinical Director for the Central Kansas Foundation’s treatment services. Since 2003, she has served as the Chief Operating Officer. Her recent accomplishments include, serving as lead staff in an accreditation process for which the Central Kansas Foundation received a three-year accreditation for its outpatient and residential programs from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Ms. Markel is a member of the State of Kansas Substance Abuse Quality Improvement Committee. Chris Bell currently serves as Program Director for the Central Kansas Foundation in McPherson, Kansas. Mr. Bell has been employed with the Central Kansas Foundation since 2002. Mr. Bell holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wyoming and a Master of Science degree from Fort Hays State. Mr. Bell is a Registered Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor in the State of Kansas. He began his career at the Central Kansas Foundation working on the Inpatient Unit in Salina, Kansas. Prior to his work at Central Kansas Foundation Mr. Bell worked in a variety of settings including Wrestling Coach at Fort Hays State, member of the United States Air Force, and Case Manager for High Plains Mental Health Center in Hays, Kansas. Shane Hudson currently serves as a Mental Health Therapist in the Junction City program. In addition to his counseling work he handles many of the administrative duties for the Junction City office. Mr. Hudson is a Licensed Master's Level Psychologist, and Licensed Addictions Counselor. He holds a Master's of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology from Emporia State University.
Eddie Splichal currently serves as the Counselor in the Hospital Services Program. Mr. Splichal has been employed with Central Kansas Foundation for the past 10 years serving in various positions, most recently as the Pathfinder Program Director. He is a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. Mr. Splichal begin his career with Central Kansas Foundation in 2000 as a counselor aid working in the residential department. In the spring of 2002 he became a Counselor in Training and served as Case Manager for the Chronic Program. He received his Substance Abuse Counselor Certification in May of 2003 and continued to work for CKF as a counselor. From March, 2004, to December, 2008, he operated the satellite office in Concordia. He has served as Evening Outpatient Coordinator at the Salina facility along with being the supervisor of the Abilene office since December, 2008. Eddie has been in recovery from alcoholism since May 2, 1997.
Kristin Menzies currently serves as the Program Director in CKF's Counseling Center. She holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Wichita State University. She is a Licensed Master's Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor, and a Substance Abuse Professional, certified for Department of Transportation substance abuse assessment services.
